Get Involved

For 2024 there are loads of different ways you can get involved in Kendal Pride, whether you’re an performer, visual artist, or community member, there’s an opportunity for you. Read on to find out more.

For 2024 we’re commissioning two experienced drag performers to create new work to be premiered on the festival weekend. The performances should be themed around the outdoors or nature, and appeal to our audiences.

There are two commissions available of £1,000 each to develop the work, plus a £250 performance fee.

You can find out more about what we’re looking for in the brief which you can download here.

The deadline for the commission is Thursday 18 April and details of how to submit your proposal can be found in the brief.

We are looking to commission two LGBTQ+ identifying emerging contemporary artists to create work for this year’s Kendal Pride exhibition. Each artist will receive £500 which should be used to support their work in a way they see fit.

Your work can be in any media apart from film or sound. You may want to create an installation of several connected parts, or one stand-alone piece. You could consider the exhibition theme as a subject for the work, reflect on your identity as a member of the LGBTQ+ community, or the work could head in a different direction.

Download the full brief here and submit your proposal here by Friday 19 April.

We’re looking for a diverse collection of creatives to display their work in an exhibition at Kendal Pride. The opportunity is open to LGBTQ+ identifying contemporary emerging artists.

You can submit existing work in any media apart from sound or film, but for the open call there is no fee offered.  We are interested in seeing bold, unique pieces which start conversations.  We want to see new and exciting things which will make people smile, cry, meditate or debate!

Download the full brief here and submit your work here by Friday 26 April.
