Get Involved

For 2025 and 2025 there are loads of different ways you can get involved in Kendal Pride, whether you’re an performer, visual artist, or community member, there’s an opportunity for you. Read on to find out more.

DRAG LAB 2025/26

Kendal Pride brings you a unique opportunity called DRAG LAB supported by Westmorland & Furness Council.

Have you ever wanted to explore the art of drag, but weren’t sure where or how to start? Whether you dream of serving gender-bending looks, or simply discovering a new side of yourself, Drag Lab is here to help you express yourself.

Drag Lab is a series of fun, supportive workshops where you will enhance your skills and gain:

  • Increased self-confidence & presence

  • Understanding of drag history & culture

  • A drag persona – name, aesthetic & character

  • Have an act that you can perform at other gigs e.g. Kendal Pride

  • Experience of performing & engaging an audience

  • Connection with your local supportive & queer community

  • Goals & next steps with coaching & guidance from professional drag artists

This community-led, creative programme will build towards 3 Scratch Nights – these are low pressure live events where you can build confidence and showcase your drag creations in front of a supportive audience.

Whether you’re a complete beginner or already performing, Drag Lab is open to everyone. All you need is curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to play with the possibilities of drag.
