Where The Cells Gather is an interactive film installation about the body as home – the one home we always have.
Created by artist Amy Clark (she/her) with community participants, the project brings together movement, dance, and text to create a growing collection of real bodies, real people, and real stories.
In a world where many of us can feel disconnected, overwhelmed, or like we don’t quite fit in, this work is a quiet invitation to return to the body – not to perform, but simply to notice it as it is, and what it can do.
At Kendal Pride, you can experience the film so far and also become part of it! Visitors are invited to record their own short contribution as part of the installation, with new footage added across the weekend, adding your body and story to this expanding body of work.
Come and be part of a living, growing collage of bodies, and movement – celebrating every kind of body and the stories they hold.
Commissioned as part of Kendal Pride 2026 with the support of Arts Council England.
