Sun 14th June 2026 10:00am - 10:45am

Come and join us for a swim or dip in England’s largest lake – Windermere.

It’s always a good laugh and an amazing social experience, however far you make it into the water. Going into the cold water is a refreshing way to start the second day of the Kendal Pride weekend.

The beach has a nice cosy feel about it and a nice flat-ish walk into the lake.

So get your swimmers on and come and join us.

This swim is a dip not a distance and is open to swimmers of all abilities who would like to experience the joy and community of wild swimming.

What to Bring

Bring swimming costumes, trunks or shorts and a towel to dry off after your swim.

There will be space for changing available and a chance for brews and cake afterwards in the Jetty Museum cafe.

Free Transport Available

There will be a 15 seater minibus available to give lifts to and from the swim for those who would like to come aboard.

Please book your ticket using the form below so we don’t end up with too many people hoping to get on on the day and being disappointed.

It will depart from the Abbott Hall car park at 9.15am.

If people would like to give a donation to help pay for the bus there will be a pot on the bus so bring some coins, or donate using the booking form below.

Safety

There will be two qualified people doing water safety from the water and the beach throughout the swim.

Over 18’s only please.

Please note that taking part in Kendal Pride’s outdoor activities is done at your own risk and by booking you agree to take responsibility for your own safety.
