A German emigrant living in a trailer in Kansas is the victim of a botched sex-change operation. Adapted from the critically acclaimed off-Broadway rock theater hit, “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” tells the story of the “internationally ignored” rock singer, Hedwig, and her search for stardom and love.
Hedwig and the Angry Inch will be preceded by the short film ‘Once Upon A time In the Northwest’..
‘Once Upon a Time in the North-West’ is a western-inspired comedy-drama about Flint, a traditional American cowboy who struggles to find his place in rural North-West England.
When Flint’s prized animal mysteriously goes missing, he must go on the hunt to find it. Along the way, Flint tries to use his cowboy skills to find the precious animal – making friends and enemies alike – and undertakes a deeper quest to find a place in his community.
Filmed and set in the Lake District, ‘Once Upon a Time in the North-West’ is a lighthearted and humorous exploration of the struggle between identity and belonging, and is centred around the experience of being an ‘other’. Created by Cumbrian Producer and 1st Assistant Director, Alexander Kasper Jessett, the film emphasises the importance of community in rural spaces.
